Brancel Earns First Team All-Ohio Honors, Barcikoski Named Honorable Mention

The Berkshire baseball program was recognized at the state level this week as senior infielder Patrick Brancel was named First Team All-Ohio and senior outfielder/pitcher Sam Barcikoski earned Honorable Mention All-Ohio honors following outstanding 2026 seasons.

Brancel put together one of the most productive offensive seasons in Berkshire history. The junior hit .455 while leading the Badgers with 35 hits, 10 doubles, five home runs, and 31 RBIs. He also scored 24 runs and posted a remarkable .606 on-base percentage and .779 slugging percentage.

Brancel's ability to consistently drive the baseball and produce in key situations made him one of the most dangerous hitters in Northeast Ohio throughout the season. His combination of power, plate discipline, and run production helped lead the Badgers to another successful campaign and earned him recognition as one of the top players in the state.

With his selection, Brancel becomes the 3rd Badger in school history to be a 1st team All Ohioan.

Barcikoski capped off an outstanding senior season by earning Honorable Mention All-Ohio honors. The Badger leadoff hitter and ace pitcher was a catalyst for Berkshire in all facets of the game.

At the plate, Barcikoski batted .402 with 37 hits, six doubles, five triples, three home runs, 22 RBIs, and 45 runs scored. He also stole 21 bases while posting a .509 on-base percentage and .674 slugging percentage.

Barcikoski's impact extended well beyond the batter's box. As Berkshire's top pitcher, he routinely took the ball against the area's best competition and provided veteran leadership throughout the season. His ability to affect the game offensively, defensively, and on the mound made him one of the most versatile players in the region.

The All-Ohio honors recognize the tremendous seasons both players produced and continue a proud tradition of Berkshire baseball players receiving statewide recognition. Brancel's First Team selection places him among the elite players in Ohio, while Barcikoski's Honorable Mention honor highlights the outstanding all-around season that helped lead the Badgers throughout the spring.
